The Crane Prairie Reservoir dominates this high-altitude landscape in the Deschutes National Forest, shown here during a period of transition in forest management and recreational development. Fed by the Deschutes River and Cultus Creek, the reservoir is surrounded by several volcanic features including Wuksi Butte and Shukash Butte.
