Morey and its surrounding wetlands occupy this coastal Texas landscape, where the flat terrain of Jefferson County is defined by a dense network of slow-moving waterways and drainage systems. The hydrologic character of the region is evident through the convergence of N Fork Taylor Bayou and S Fork Taylor Bayou, which meander through a series of namesake gullies including Pignut Gully, Vogel Gully, and Green Pond Gully.
