Otter Fork Licking River and its numerous tributaries define the drainage of this rural landscape in western Licking County during the early 1960s. The area is characterized by a high density of crossroads communities, many bearing the names of early settler families such as Pattersons Corners, Brooks Corners, and Edelblut Corners. These small nodes served as the social and civic anchors for the surrounding townships of Bennington, Burlington, and Liberty.
