About this map

Goslin Mountain and the Uinta Mountains dominate this high-desert landscape along the border of Utah and Wyoming. Mapping in the early 1950s captured this region as a network of drainages and springs before significant modern development altered the remote terrain of the Ashley National Forest. The Green River carves through the southern half of the sheet, winding through the depths of Red Canyon near landmarks like Devils Hole and the Dutch John Bench. Evidence of early human movement and land use is visible in the Lowline Trail and scattered watering points such as Edith Aspden Park Springs and Munns Spring. A lone Prospect near the Wyoming line suggests early mineral exploration, while the broad expanses of Antelope Flat and The Glades define the northern approach toward Pigeon Basin.
