North Fairfield and Greenwich anchor this pocket of Huron County, where the agricultural landscape is drained by the upper reaches of three separate river branches. The terrain is defined by the headwaters of the E Br Huron River and W Br Huron River, while the Southwest Br Vermilion River flows through the eastern section. This network of small waterways dictated the original placement of early crossroads settlements like Hanville Corners and Delphi.
