The Aspen Range and Preuss Range dominate this high-altitude section of the Caribou National Forest along the border of Caribou and Bear Lake counties. At the center of the survey is Harrington Peak, surrounded by a complex system of drainage and relief including Rattlesnake Basin, The Hole, and Big Basin. The landscape is defined by its water sources, with numerous named springs such as Meadow Sadie Springs, Horseshoe Spring, and Red Pine Spring feeding various canyons.
