Johnsville and Selden anchor this Erath County landscape, which transitions between the wooded slopes and open ranch lands of the Cross Timbers region. The 1961 survey, later photo-inspected in 1976, shows a terrain defined by the winding course of Duffau Creek and its many tributaries, including Little Duffau Creek and Richardson Creek. This hydrology shaped the placement of early settlements and family landmarks, with Three Way marking a notable rural junction.
