The Mystery Hills dominate this portion of the Kenai Peninsula, rising above a network of glacial and alpine drainages. This mid-1980s survey illustrates a landscape primarily dedicated to conservation, split between the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and the more restrictive Kenai Wilderness. Persistent Snow Fields are mapped at the higher elevations, feeding the headwaters of Thurman Creek and Mystery Creek.
