Lake Osakis dominates this Central Minnesota landscape, with its eastern shoreline defined by a series of prominent peninsulas including Battle Point, Lindberg Point, and Caughren Point. The area transitions from the expansive waters of the lake into a dense network of smaller basins and wetlands, notably Little Lake Osakis and Platt Lake. The Long Prairie River flows through the northern reaches, while the Sauk River drains from the south near the town of Osakis.
