The Chippewa River flows across the southern edge of this Isabella County landscape, anchoring a rural territory defined by small settlements and an extensive drainage network. Historic communities like Wise, Delwin, and Leaton are situated along a grid of section-line roads, such as N Leaton Rd and N Shepherd Rd. The agricultural character of the township is evident in the numerous engineered waterways, including Killenbeck Drain, Sharps Drain, and McDonald Drain, which manage the low-lying areas between the forks of the Salt River. Local history is preserved at the River Lawn Cem near the N Br Salt River and the Bissing Cem to the west. In the central portion of the map, the small aviation facility at D J Airport stands out against the surrounding fields and woodlots, while the namesake Jordon Cr meanders toward the village of Jordan.
