Lecompte and the neighboring community of Meeker occupy the fertile lowland corridor of Bayou Boeuf in southeastern Rapides Parish. This landscape is defined by the complex network of waterways that once drove the region's agricultural economy, including Calahan Bayou, Rattlesnake Bayou, and the expansive Mathews Brake. The terrain to the west rises toward Forest Hill and Midway, where the drainage patterns of Indian Cr and Beaver Cr transition into the uplands surrounding the Indian Cr Reservoir.
