Winslow and Lena anchor this section of Northwest Illinois, where the rolling agricultural landscape is carved by the Pecatonica River and its numerous tributaries. By the early 1970s, the region's transportation history remained etched into the terrain via the Old Railroad Grade running south from Winslow. The southern portion of the quadrangle is dominated by the Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park, providing a recreational centerpiece with its campground and picnic area centered around Lake Le-Aqua-Na.
