W Fork Tolovana River meanders through the northwest corner of this Interior Alaska landscape, marking a remote drainage system within the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area. The terrain is defined by the winding corridor of the Elliott Highway, which cuts across the central highlands to provide the primary terrestrial link through this wilderness. Numerous seasonal and perennial waterways, including Montana Cr, Brooks Cr, and Trail Cr, descend from the ridgelines into the valley floors. This 2017 survey illustrates the intersection of modern transportation infrastructure with an expansive natural drainage network, showing how the roadway navigates the complex elevations of the t6n r8w, t6n r7w, t5n r8w, and t5n r7w townships.
