Logansport and Stanley serve as the primary hubs in this western De Soto Parish landscape where the Sabine River defines the border between Louisiana and Texas. Much of the southern terrain is dominated by the vast waters of the Toledo Bend Reservoir and the protected woods of the Sabine National Forest. The map is particularly rich for genealogical research, documenting numerous burial grounds including the Liberty Cem African American, Ashton Cem, and Logansport Community Cem.
