Avalik River winds through this expanse of the North Slope, carving a path across the northern Alaskan tundra as it was documented in 2015. The terrain is defined by low-elevation gradients and the prominent Shaningarok Ridge, which runs through the western portion of the quadrangle. This area remains largely uninhabited, characterized by its complex hydrography and seasonal watercourses like Shaningarok Creek in the south.
