Na Pali Coast State Park and the rugged Waimea Canyon State Park define this mid-1960s survey of Kauai’s northwestern edge. Modern infrastructure of the era is represented by the Auxiliary Landing Field Bonham and the Kokee Instrumentation Station, reflecting the island's strategic role in mid-century aviation and technology. To the south, the terrain flattens into the settlement of Mana and the Saki Mana area, where a network of wells and pump houses supported local water needs. The interior remains largely accessible only by a system of rugged trails and jeep trails through the Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve.
