1964 Map of Marble Head

USGS Topo · Published 1988

About this map

Drummond Island is depicted here along the international boundary between Michigan and Ontario, captured just as mid-century land use was being documented for the Munuscong State Forest. The easternmost point of the island is defined by the prominent limestone bluffs of Marble Head, overlooking the False Detour Channel that separates the United States from Canada. The interior landscape is a mosaic of small lakes and marshes, including Dickenson Lake, Bass Lake, and the family-named Jarvinen Marsh.
