Millican Mountains and Wildcat Mountain dominate this West Texas landscape, where deep erosional features like Wildcat Canyon and Sterman Canyon cut through the high plateau. In the early 1960s, this area of Coke County remained largely rural and ranch-oriented, defined by its water infrastructure and rugged topography. The presence of the Wildcat Sch and numerous family-named landmarks suggests a persistent, albeit sparse, ranching community.

Water management is central to the land's utility here, evidenced by a network of windmills such as Hog Windmill, Williams Windmill, and the Head of the Creek Windmill. These structures, alongside Wildcat Tank and Oscar Tank, supported livestock across the drainages of Grape Creek and Wildcat Creek. Industrial activity is localized to a few Quarries and a Pipeline cutting through the northern reaches of the quadrangle.
