About this map

Miners Delight and the Stambaugh (Historical Site) reveal the gold-mining heritage of the South Pass region during the mid-1950s. This survey, part of the development of the Missouri River Basin, documents an area deeply etched by hard-rock and placer operations. Numerous lode claims including the Miners Delight Mine, Gold Dollar Mine, and Caribou Mine are situated along the south-facing slopes of Peabody Ridge and near the headwaters of Beaver Creek.
