Mt Pangnik and the high elevation terrain of the Brooks Range dominate this portion of the North Slope at the height of the 2010s. The landscape is defined by its extreme northern hydrology, where the Hulahula River flows along the eastern edge of the quadrangle, collecting drainage from glacial-fed tributaries. High ridges such as Kulavo Ridge separate deep valleys carved by seasonal watercourses like Katak Cr and W Patuk Cr. This 2018 survey serves as a modern record of this high-latitude environment, illustrating the complex drainage patterns and relief that dictate the movement of water and wildlife through the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The township and range boundaries, including t3s r31e and t2s r30e, provide the only administrative framework across this largely untouched wilderness.
