Mt Salisbury dominates the southern portion of this landscape, serving as a high-altitude anchor for a network of glacial and snowmelt drainage systems in the Brooks Range foothills. The western edge is defined by the Kavik River, which flows northward through the deep valleys of the North Slope. The terrain is further dissected by the perennial flow of Plunge Cr, which carves a path through the central sections of the quadrangle before approaching the eastern drainage of Salisbury Cr. This 2018 survey illustrates the complex topography of the arctic wilderness, where steep elevation changes and sharp ridgelines dictate the natural corridors of the region. The map provides a detailed view of the township and range divisions, marking the remote boundaries of T2S, T3S, and T4S within the R24E and R25E corridors of the Umiat Meridian.
