The Wrangell-Saint Elias National Preserve occupies the northern half of this remote interior landscape, characterized by the undulating relief of the Carden Hills. The terrain transitions from these upland contours down to the basin of Carden Lake in the southwest, where the drainage network of the region is most visible. This 2023 survey illustrates a wilderness interface where the international border of the United States of America defines the eastern edge of the quadrangle.
