About this map

New Freeport and Aleppo anchor this study of Greene County’s southwestern highlands, where a network of winding ridges and deep hollows dictates the path of every road and creek. The landscape is defined by the headwaters of the Pennsylvania Fork Fish Cr and the various forks of Dunkard Creek, including South Fork Dunkard Fork and N Fork Dunkard Fork. These narrow valley bottoms host small settlements like Deep Valley and Morford, often situated where runs meet, such as the junction of Herod Run and Barneys Run.
