The Cape Krusenstern National Monument occupies this coastal stretch of the Northwest Arctic, where the land meets the cold waters of the Chukchi Sea. The landscape is dominated by the transition from the low-lying, water-logged tundra of the coast to the rising elevations of the Mulgrave Hills in the northeast. This 2019 survey captures a complex system of arctic wetlands and drainage patterns, including the notable Imik Lagoon and the winding course of Rabbit Creek.
