The Kaiyuh Mountains dominate this interior landscape, a terrain of high ridges and narrow drainages in the Yukon-Koyukuk region. In the early 21st century, this area remains a complex network of seasonal watersheds, where the elevation rises significantly toward Khotol Mtn. The hydrology of the district is defined by several prominent streams, including North Cr and Yukon Cr, which carve through the upland slopes of the Kaiyuh range.
