Hill Cow Camp serves as a lone human landmark in this high-altitude landscape of the Colorado-Utah border region. The terrain is defined by massive formations including Lone Spring Ridge and Atchee Ridge, which dictate the complex drainage patterns of the area. Numerous steep-walled corridors like West Tent Canyon and Rat Hole Canyon cut through the ridges, eventually feeding into the primary waterway of Bitter Creek.
