The Loxahatchee River meanders through the northeastern corner of this landscape, forming a core part of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. While much of the terrain is defined by the Loxahatchee Slough and various levees, the small settlement of Rood serves as a local point of reference near the center. Transport and infrastructure projects represent the mid-century development of Florida, specifically the Sunshine State Parkway which cuts diagonally across the quadrangle, including Interchange 11 and a designated Tollgate.
