The Fox River meanders south through this corner of Kenosha County, anchoring a landscape defined by its glacial lakes and transition from agriculture to early recreation. By the mid-20th century, the area supported established settlements like Wilmot, New Munster, and Fox River, while the shores of Silver Lake, Camp Lake, and Center Lake show concentrated residential development and community infrastructure.

A striking feature in the northern portion of the quadrangle is the Richard Bong Air Force Base (Abandoned), which appears here in its decommissioned state. Cultural and recreational landmarks are scattered throughout, including the Wilmot Hills Raceway, the Fairground near Wilmot, and the Trevor Sch further south. Local history is preserved in sites such as St Johns Cem and Salem Mound Cem, while the industrial presence of numerous Gravel Pits speaks to the local geology of the Salem Mound area.
