About this map

Sulphur Springs and the surrounding northern reaches of Tampa appear at a transitional moment during the mid-1940s, as rural precincts began to give way to suburban expansion. The Hillsborough River meanders through the southeastern portion of the map, past the planned community of Temple Terrace and the Henderson - Hillsborough International Airport. To the north, the landscape is defined by a dense network of lakes, including Lake Magdalene and Lake Carrol, where small clusters of settlement like Nowatney and Chapman are still visible.
