The Talkeetna Mountains define this high-elevation landscape in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, where steep topographic contours reveal a complex drainage system. Two primary watercourses, Cache Cr and Disappointment Cr, flow through the northern reaches of the quadrangle, carving deep valleys into the terrain. In the southeast, the Talkeetna River appears, illustrating the high-volume glacial runoff common to this region. This 2016 survey captures a section of the wilderness primarily organized by public land survey system markers, including t29n r1e and t28n r1w, providing an essential reference for land management and remote backcountry navigation in the Alaskan interior.
