Tekamah serves as the focal point of this Eastern Nebraska landscape, situated west of the shifting banks of the Missouri River. The area is defined by an extensive drainage and irrigation network, including the Douglas Ditch, Riverside Ditch, and Tekamah Ditch, which manage the water flow across the low-lying plains of Burt County. To the northeast, the small settlement of Arizona and its nearby Arizona Cem stand near the state line bordering Iowa and Monona County.
