Cypress Creek and its many tributaries, including Threet Creek and Lindsey Creek, carve through this section of Lauderdale County. The landscape is dotted with small rural communities and crossroads that served as local hubs in the early 1950s. Threet stands near the center, while Central Heights and Sullivan Crossroads anchor the southern portion of the sheet. The historical Natchez Trace Parkway cuts across the western hills, following the path of the original Natchez Trace.
