About this map

Pine Creek Gorge dominates the western half of this quadrangle, its steep walls carved by the winding Pine Creek. In the mid-1940s, the Penn Central line followed the river's narrow path through the canyon, supporting a landscape of high ridges and deep hollows like Strap Mill Hollow and Bee Tree Hollow. Higher elevations offer panoramic vantage points at Barbour Rock and Harrison Lookout, while the terrain to the east transitions into a more settled plateau.
