Tower City and Williamstown anchor a landscape defined by the anthracite coal region's narrow valleys and steep ridges during the late 1960s. The industrial heritage of the area is visible in the numerous Mine Dumps and Gravel Pits that dot the slopes of Big Lick Mountain and Bear Mountain. Between these heights, the community centers of Reinerton, Sheridan, and Muir line the primary transit corridor, while the Conrail line facilitates the movement of resources through the valley.
