Talachulitna Cr winds through the northeastern portion of this Alaskan landscape, part of a complex watershed system within the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. The terrain is defined by the convergence of several waterways, including Coal Cr and its significant western tributary, W Fork Coal Cr. These streams cut through the high-elevation contours of the t17n r14w and t18n r14w townships, where the drainages provide natural corridors through the steep relief. The map also records the lower reaches of Coal Creek as it flows southeast. This survey represents a modern record of the region’s hydrology and topography, capturing the precise drainage patterns of these named creeks before they join larger river systems outside the quadrangle boundaries.
