Weber stands at the intersection of rail and desert water systems in this 1960s landscape, later updated in the early 1980s. The settlement is defined by its position along the Burlington Northern railroad, where Schaeffer Spur once supported the loading and transport needs of local growers. This arid region of eastern Washington is characterized by significant irrigation engineering, most notably the East Low Canal, which winds through the southern portion of the quadrangle to provide the water necessary for agriculture in the Big Bend country.
