Gates of the Arctic National Park encompasses the entirety of this interior Alaskan landscape, which remains largely defined by its high-latitude drainage systems and prominent peaks. The western portion of the quadrangle is dominated by the course of Clear River, which is joined by Willow Cr as it winds through deep valleys. These watercourses serve as the primary geographical markers in a region devoid of permanent settlements or infrastructure, reflecting the wilderness character of the central Brooks Range in the early 21st century.
