1967 Map of Ypsilanti East

USGS Topo · Published 1974

About this map

Ypsilanti and its eastern industrial corridor are defined by the transition from collegiate life at Eastern Michigan University to the massive infrastructure of Willow Run Airport. This survey, photorevised in the early 1970s, shows the area as a hub of mid-century transport and manufacturing, where the Huron River is impounded by the Ford Dam to form Ford Lake and Belleville Lake. The landscape is a mosaic of suburban expansion in Eastlawn and older agricultural pockets near Willis.
