The southern portion of the quadrangle follows the drainage of the Little Pend Oreille River, where a series of water bodies including Lake Thomas, Heritage Lake, and Lake Leo provided recreational and ecological value. The presence of Princess Pine Camp on the river suggests the area's importance for seasonal habitation and forest management. High-altitude meadows like Big Meadow Lake and Stewart Meadow are interspersed among the peaks, fed by numerous seasonal flows such as Big Muddy Creek and Patchen Creek.
