The Republican River and its accompanying Red Willow Canal define the southern edge of this West Central Nebraska landscape, where the village of Bartley serves as the primary hub along Us-34. The terrain to the north transitions into a complex system of draws and canyons, most notably Stevenson Canyon, punctuated by a series of water management features including Dry Cr Reservoir 5-A and Dry Cr Reservoir 8-B.
