USGS Topo · Published 1957

About this map

The Old Colony Mine (Inactive) and its associated Tailings Ponds dominate the upper western portion of this 1956 landscape, reflecting the phosphate mining legacy of Central Florida. The terrain is defined by a dense network of seasonal wetlands and slow-moving watercourses, including Bowlegs Creek and Boggy Branch, which drain toward the south into Charlie Creek. In the southeast, the small community of Bereah serves as a local focal point near the Polk Co Hardee Co line.
