The high alpine basins of the Trinity Alps define this mid-1980s survey, capturing a landscape of steep granite ridges and glacially carved lakes. The terrain is centered on the Salmon Mountains and the convergence of the Klamath National Forest, Shasta National Forest, and Trinity National Forest. At the heart of the region, the South Fork Salmon River and Coffee Creek drain the surrounding heights, where numerous prospects and sites like the Yellow Rose Mine and Dorleska Mine reflect the area’s mineral history.
