1893 Map of Carson

USGS Topo · Published 1904

About this map

Virginia City and the surrounding mining districts of the Comstock Lode dominate the eastern slopes of Mt. Davidson in this late nineteenth-century survey. The landscape is defined by the industrial network connecting Gold Hill, Silver City, and Dayton, all tied together by the winding route of the Virginia & Truckee R.R. This rail line descends from the silver mines through Mound House into Eagle Valley, where it meets the capital at Carson.
