Cedarvale and the surrounding Van Zandt County countryside are defined by a complex network of small tributaries and water management sites in this 2010 survey. The landscape is crisscrossed by several branches of the Cedar Creek system, including Muddy Cedar Creek, Rocky Cedar Creek, and Wolf Creek. These waterways are managed by numerous Soil Conservation Service structures, such as Soil Conservation Service Site 114 Dam and Site 110 Dam, alongside the Bobbitt Lake Dam.
