The Davidson Ditch snakes across the northern portion of this landscape, a significant piece of hydraulic mining infrastructure that diverted water to the Fairbanks gold fields. This massive engineering project is shown following the contours above the Chatanika River, complete with specific engineering markers such as a Siphon and various bench marks along its route. The Steese Highway provides the primary transit corridor, roughly paralleling the ditch and river as it passes through the drainage basins of Ptarmigan Cr and Moose Cr.
