1964 Map of Como

USGS Topo · Published 1968

About this map

The Louisiana and Arkansas railroad forms a diagonal spine through this corner of Hopkins County, connecting the rural communities of Como and Pickton. The landscape is defined by the extraction of natural resources, most notably within the Pickton Oil Field at the southern edge of the quadrangle, where several Gas Wells are situated. Numerous small country churches and burial grounds, such as Elm Ridge Ch, Forest Academy Ch, and Woodland Cem, serve as anchors for the scattered farmsteads of the era.
