Dinuba and the surrounding San Joaquin Valley floor meet the rising Sierra Nevada foothills in this 1920s-era topographic study. The landscape is sharply divided between the structured agricultural grid of the valley, dominated by the Southern Pacific and Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railroads, and the mountainous wildlands of the Sierra National Forest and Sequoia National Forest. Evidence of the region's industrial and agricultural development is visible in the Hume Sanger Flume winding through the Kings River canyon and the Wahtoke Winery near the rail lines.
