About this map

Natural Tunnel and the iron rails of the Southern railroad anchor this survey of the rugged corridor between Powell Mountain and Clinch Mountain. The landscape is a dense network of family history, marked by numerous small burial grounds such as Lawson Cem, Duff Cem, and Peterson Cem that dot the ridges and hollows. The Daniel Boone Trail cuts through the center of the quadrangle, passing through Duffield and connecting smaller settlements like Pattonsville and Sunbright.
