The Charley River meanders through this portion of the Yukon-Tanana Uplands, tracing a path through a landscape defined by sharp elevation shifts and dense riparian vegetation. Recorded from aerial photography taken in the early 1950s, the terrain remains largely untouched by development or formal trails, reflecting the interior's wilderness character during this mid-century period. To the south, the North Fork Goodpaster River provides a secondary drainage system. Because these land lines represent unsurveyed and unmarked locations predetermined by the Bureau of Land Management, the map serves as a primary record of the natural topography before any significant human footprint was established in this remote section of the Fairbanks Meridian.
