About this map

The Nenana River carves a central path through this landscape, serving as a corridor for the Alaska Railroad and the Parks Highway. During the mid-twentieth century, this region supported several small settlements and essential transportation stops, including Rex, Liaho, and Browne. Near Liaho, the Brown Court Sch and the Liaho Landing Strip highlight a localized pocket of community infrastructure along the rail line. To the south, Ferry and Walker mark further points of habitation where the railroad and river intersect.
